Foodie Friday: Bravo for National Pizza Month!

For this week’s installment of Foodie Friday, we’re celebrating the wrap-up of October, also known as National Pizza Month in the U.S.  These days, this pie is hardly humble. Upscaled pizza is on the rise, particularly thanks to specialty restaurants who take their pizza to a whole new level. As the weekend approaches, it’s a great time for each of us to step back from the busy work week and enjoy a few of life’s small pleasures. One of my all-time favorites is the Krispy Kreme Doughnut. I have enjoyed these little gems on occasion for more than 30 years. The simplicity of the original-glazed recipe and the genius “hot now” neon sign marketing work together to give this irresistible treat some serious staying power and cultural cache. (more…)
