It’s October, and for the beer connoisseurs among us, it means the return of a special variety of this malty, hoppy, frothy, delicious beverage. For two weeks in Munich, Germany, beer lovers enjoy this seasonal brew with a celebratory festival: Oktoberfest. This year’s Oktoberfest just ended, and despite cooler temperatures and a slightly lower headcount than last year, the amount of beer reportedly consumed at Oktoberfest “was still enough to fill over two and a half Olympic swimming pools.”
I’ve traveled to Germany on a number of occasions, and have always loved the way the locals immerse themselves in outdoor festivals and Holiday celebrations. It was always great fun being a participant in several fun, food and beverage-laden experiences!
