Foodie Friday: It’s National Doughnut Day!

It’s National Doughnut Day—a perfect excuse for each of us to kick back after the busy work week and enjoy a few of life’s small pleasures.

One of my all-time favorites is the classic Krispy Kreme Doughnut. I have enjoyed these little gems on occasion for more than 30 years. The simplicity of the original-glazed recipe and the genius “hot now” neon sign marketing work together to give this irresistible treat some serious staying power and cultural cache. (more…)
